Building Equity with Canvas Design Essentials

This session introduces practical strategies and accessibility basics that make courses easier to navigate, more engaging, and supportive of every student. Participants will see demonstrations of simple design practices in Canvas including headings, descriptive links, image alt text, and captions, that enhance readability and remove barriers. We’ll also explore how built-in or connected tools like the Canvas Accessibility Checker and Kaltura support inclusive teaching. Participants will leave with quick, repeatable techniques to strengthen their course design and ensure all learners can fully participate.
