The Hahn Teaching with Technology program, supported by the Hahn Fund for Innovation seeks projects involving technology and teaching.
A Generous Gift
In 1990 Franklin and Margaret Hahn provided Pomona College with a generous monetary gift. With these funds, the Hahn Building was completed in 1997. In the 2000s, ITS and the Dean’s Office used the remaining funds to establish the Teaching with Technology grant program.
In the official acknowledgment letter to the Hahns, then Vice President of Development at Pomona College, Ted Gibbens, wrote the following:
This excitement continues today as the Hahn gift supports new innovative teaching projects each year.
Hahn funds have been used to support teaching with technology projects in the following ways:
- Computer hardware and software
- Faculty stipends
- Research/Teaching Assistant hires
- Student labor
- Guest speakers
- Conference fees/travel
The Hahn Teaching with Technology Grant Call for Proposals is released on the RITG site each spring and includes the grant requirements. Awardees are announced the following summer/fall. To learn more about past Hahn recipients and their projects, visit Hahn Recipients.
