Pressbooks – old

What is it?

Print and electronic book production service.

Why use it?

Pressbooks is a simple book production software that enables faculty to create custom, open-source textbooks for their courses. These can take the form of interactive web books, PDFs for print, and ebooks. This tool is perfect for faculty who would like to use their own materials to make an open-source textbook, or have found an open-source textbook that they would like to adapt or localize to their teaching or classroom.

How do I get started?

If you are interested in using Pressbooks, Scholarly Communications Librarian, Jennifer Beamer will get you started. You can reach her at jenniferb@claremont.edu.

How do I get help?

ITS Staff is also available to answer your questions and meet you for a consultation and/or group training, if needed. We can help brainstorm ideas for using Pressbooks in your teaching based on your specific needs and discipline. Simply reach out to servicedesk@pomona.edu.
