Gradescope – old

What is it?

Gradescope is an online grading platform that helps make grading faster, more consistent, and fairer.

Why use it?

Pomona and HMC have an institutional licenses for Gradescope, which means faculty and students can sign up for accounts for free. Faculty also have access to all premium features in Gradescope including flexible rubrics, autograding of programming assignments, grouping similar answers, and integration with Sakai. It also provides a plethora of statistics on your student’s grades. This is helpful in determining what topics students have the most difficulty with, and identifying why students may have gotten certain questions wrong.

How do I get started?

Gradescope can be integrated in Sakai. To add Gradescope to your course site:

  1. Go to Site Info/Manage Tools in your Sakai course site.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click the triangle next to External Tools to
    expand it.
  3. Select “Gradescope Pomona” and click Continue. Then click Finish.
