Open Pedagogy and Hypothes.is

Jennifer Beamer is the Scholarly Communications Librarian at The Claremont Colleges Library and is passionate about Open Education and Open Access to materials.  She will discuss the ways in which Hypothes.is can facilitate open educational practices known as open pedagogy.

Open pedagogy involves students as producers, rather than just consumers, of knowledge. They can be run in almost any for-credit course, in any subject at the upper-undergraduate or graduate level and can take a variety of formats and approaches.  Jennifer will provide concrete examples, of open pedagogy using Hypothes.is which include both classroom-tested practices and budding ideas for you to consider.
