Faculty Panel: Open Pedagogy – Teaching with Pressbooks and Hypothes.is

This session features several faculty members sharing their experiences using Open Pedagogy and teaching with Pressbooks and Hypothes.is:
- Barbara Junisbai (Associate Professor of Organizational Studies, Pitzer) will talk about the excitement and challenges of creating an open-source textbook with students in organizational theory.
- Jody Valentine (Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics, Pomona) will talk about how to use Pressbooks and Hypothes.is to support equity and community-building.
- Esther Hernández-Medina (Visiting Assistant Professor Sociology, Pomona) will talk about how her students used Pressbooks to transform their final papers into edited volumes on the forms of social inequality they care about.
- Jennifer Beamer (Scholarly Communications Librarian, Library) will talk about using Pressbooks and Hypothes.is with library materials for classes, and briefly describe the library support available to faculty.
The panelists will share for about 40 minutes leaving plenty of time for questions and discussion.
