Collaborative Web Annotation Using Hypothesis

September 10, 2020 @ 4:00 pm 5:00 pm

Hypothes.is allows for the annotation of documents and web pages and can be an alternative to online discussion forums. Pomona just integrated hypothes.is with Sakai, making some of the functionality–such as using the Sakai gradebook and document preparation–easier.

We will engage Jeremy Dean and Ryan Comeau of Hypothes.is in a discussion of how collaborative annotation can make student reading visible, active, and social. They will also share stories of faculty using annotation-powered reading to empower student writing, helping students develop these foundational academic skills, and discuss how collaborative annotation can be used in specific disciplines and with specific teaching and learning objectives.

This event will be recorded and is open to everyone—faculty, and staff across the Consortium—who are new users of Hypothes.is or simply want to learn more about it.
